Coastal Compost FAQs

What is Coastal Compost?
Coastal Compost is a marine-based organic compost, aged for 2+ years and triple-screened for a fine, smooth texture. It is a soil amendment, with no added peat moss or sand.
How do I use it?
Use it to amend garden soil, top-dress established plants, or blend with potting soil. Follow the application directions on the bag for your intended use.
Can I use it by itself as potting soil?
Coastal Compost is intended as a soil amendment. Blend it with an appropriate growing medium for containers rather than using it alone. For a ready-to-use container mix, choose our Potting Mix.
What does the texture feel like?
It has a fine, smooth texture similar to worm castings. Triple-screening helps create a consistent compost that is easy to spread and mix into soil.
Where can I use Coastal Compost?
It can be used in vegetable and flower gardens, raised beds, lawns, and around trees and shrubs. You can also blend it into potting soil for container plants.
Is it suitable for organic gardening?
Yes. Coastal Compost is OMRI Listed for organic use.
